Sisyphos, Berlin ’24—Brief & Mixtape.

A new experience playing at Sisyphos, Belrin, and same magic. Wintergarten is one of those places where you give and go all in and you belong there. For this time, I selected some tracks and put it doen in a demo mixtape.
More:
Second time playing there and luckily once again absolute madness. There’s something about Wintergarten that just pulls the best out of everyone. The dancers give it everything, so you’ve got to match that energy. I really do it with all my pleasure.
Luckily was offered the 3-6 AM slot again—is my prime time. That hour’s make-or-break; you’re either fully in, or what’s the point? Musically, it’s the moment to manage every bit of energy out of the crowd. At one point, it felt like an actual workout, the front row was sweating and clinging to the booth. But you have to give space for easy enjoyment and bring them in the groove, then it flows.
I have done a demo mixtape, that you can listen here below. My set built up by bits—progressive, uplifting, ramping up as the night went on. Did everything to hit right that space. I had my people around, got a proper welcome and hosting, and met dancers who came up to chat about the set. Then the sun came up… only thing to do was to slide through this nice morning. Really cool one.

I wanted a souvenir, so I recorded the whole thing straight from my phone’s mic—raw, full of shouts and madness. The only problem was that I never backed it up, and I lost my phone a few months later (read here).
No recordings, no evidence…and that’s ok as it means we were immersed in it. Berlin’s still there, though, and I’ll be back at Sisyphos soon. Next time, I’m backing up the recording properly. That room deserves to be well remembered.

Berlin had the Love Parade going on the day after, my dear Zombies in Miami played at Panorama/Berghain, damn round weekend. Some impressions below. Can’t wait to enjoy Berin & Sisyphos again.
